When Gartner predicted a few years ago that 80% of all gamification initiatives would fail, many people were understandably disillusioned. Today, the hype has died down, and the promise of gamified and eLearning technologies to revolutionise learning seems unfulfilled. The fundamental cause of this has been the failure to integrate what we know about how the brain actually learns into solution design. Thankfully, the emergence of a new category of technology called Human Transformation Technology (HTT) is helping remedy this gap.
In this workshop we will look at how HTT is finally delivering on the promise of gamification to deliver deeper understanding and retention of learning, and how new technology is making it possible for anyone to build their own fun, neurologically-sound and effective learning solution that incorporates the proven, effective principals of Human Transformation Technology.
Our workshop will be lead by Leon Young, founding CEO of Cogniss (www.cogniss.com), a 20 year veteran of the edtech business and a 30 year veteran of the games industry, and Cogniss's Chief Product Officer, Anna Goldfeder, who prior to joining Cogniss in 2016 spent 7 years designing, building and managing award-winning educational games, assessment platforms and core curriculum resources with leading secondary publisher Jacaranda (Wiley).
