18 July 2019 Recap: everyone has a superpower? what's yours?
This week, in keeping with July’s theme of Dual Horizons, we looked at different ways you can tap into your inner superpowers today, with a lens towards how you can reinvent and evolve for the future.
Lan Snell, Academic Program Director, Global MBA at Macquarie University kicked us off with a presentation, considering the future of learning as an in-demand model driven by learners - EdFlix. This thought provoking session highlighted how lifelong employment has been replaced by lifelong learning, and how we can harness that.
VCS’ own Zara and Nathan then guided us through some Lego Serious Play, which allowed us to ideate, design, build and connect our superpowers. This allowed us to unearth the awesomeness among our community to multiply our collective innovation potential!
We then met Myles Tehan (MD - Hack Days AUS) who talked us through real world examples of successful hackathon events for businesses. More Australian businesses are embracing Hackathons as part of their innovation efforts and we were inspired by how they can be harnessed to encourage more creativity and collaboration. You can check out Myles’ guide to planning a successful hack day here.
